Welcome to 417 HEMA
The WMA/HEMA Community in Springfield MO is thriving and growing every day. We are one of several HEMA groups/clubs/associations/teams that call this city ,home. We blend the historical element with the modern day elements of HEMA.

As some of you may know , I helped start the first HEMA club of the Antilles a little over 15
years ago in Puerto Rico. Some of the original friends that co-founded the project have moved to the continental US and Europe since then. I m currently living in Springfield MO. And in the last 2 years I had the opportunity to participate and collaborate with the activities of other local clubs and neighboring ones. But now that I have my own space I m taking the next step of officially re-starting classes and instruction for friends here , back on the island and elsewhere.

To that end I will continue the good work we do on Esgrima Antigua e Historica de Puerto Rico back on the island and here under it s new affiliate 417 HEMA: Historical European Martial Arts in Springfield MO. We meet Tuesdays or upon request. Instruction is also imparted in Spanish if needed it.

I m also working on a blog and video blog under the name "The Lone Islander" and we plan to keep organizing local Gatherings for Peryton s Nest.

I m still waiting for our info to show up on the HEMAA national website club finder and I m still working on the website. But we are ready to start meeting as soon as tomorrow.
Thanks to all our friends for your unconditional support, advice, help and friendship.

Love y'all!
